The old straps are done and I've bought new ones. The style is looped at one end and a snap hook on the other. Hardware is fine, but the looped end is secured by rivets in the poles. I don't know how to remove the rivets nor do I know how to install new ones. Is there an alternate way to install the straps on the pole?

Pop rivets are removed with a drill ... Choose a bit that is about the same diameter as the rivet head... Drill with light pressure... Once the center hole reaches the diameter of the shank of the rivet the remainder of the head will be free and spin with the bit... Then a light tap w a punch will knock the rest of the rivet into the inside of the tube.....

A pop river gun and rivets would be needed to replace em....

Otherwise simply cut off the old straps and fasten the new ones by wrapping them around and passing the hook ends through the loops n pull tight.
