I picked up an 84 Crestliner. It's a 19 ft pen bow. Has an 8 cylinder in and it has Century on the side, back end. I would assume it's Crestliner built, Century is the model? Crestliner is on the title.
Motor sounds amazing, outdrive was rebuilt last year. It's in ok shape. What sold me on this particular boat aside from starting up instantly and running beautiful, is the hull under the floor and under the engine compartment was Spotless, Transom, was as well. My Questions are to do with the difference between owning and operating a 17ft outboard and a 19 I/O?
Thanks ....Bill

Interesting. Yes the numbers match. There is a hard plate Says CENTURY right in the middle of the stern.
No pictures yet, too dark.
I forgot to mention, that motor didn't move or shake at all when it was running, even when he was giving it some Rs.
Dirty air filter, old fuel line that needs to be replaced. I'm sure the oil could use a changing.

With that, I'll step out on a "no photo" limb and say that you've got a Century. That's a signature for them. One of the logos should have a rearing pony on it too.

Sounds to me like you got a nice boat.

Here is a shot of the badging that is usually on the sides near the stern.

Ok, I have some pictures. Thank you. It is a Century 3000, there's 3000 on the side.
I am trying to figure out how to post pics. What kind of RPM number should I be getting at WOT?
We took the boat out on the delta today, flawless. I don't have a gps for it yet, so not sure how fast it is.
It just seemed to glide right over the chop.
The boat was on the water 5 hours today, drained less than 2 quarts of water out of the Bilge when we were done.
My Tach may be off, I was only getting about 2500 @ WOT, or is that normal for these V8s???

I can't find a model number plate on the motor, the Drive is a model number 983488. Motor is a V8
It's either a 230HP, or a 260HP 8 cylinder. My guess would be the first one.

Hey that's my boat, only nicer. Which Motor out drive combo do you have? Also, what's your rpm reading at WOT.

You have the open bow and mine has the cuddy. Definitely a Century though the stern and the hull lines are the same. I have the strong but odd 3.7L 470 4cyl in it. My rpm's say tops 4200. Although she lives cruising about 2800-3000 rpm. That is all with a 14.25 21p alum prop. (pretty sure on the diameter of the prop but not positive)

Wish i had a V8 Hehehehe
