Recently purchased a boat and this is what i got.

The middle flip up glass in my open bow is missing its locking mechanism, and it appears that a piece may be missing judging by my gap. Can someone from a similar year post some pictures of theirs so i can see what I'm missing. I believe the glass system is a vision 2000.

Here are the pictures. As i was saying the gap between the windows is to large for a traditional turn lock style that i have seen. Ignore the window sagging. The frame is loose, i tried tightening it, but it didn't budge.

Can anyone rebuild these frames to tighten them up? And i need a suggestion for a latch that would work.

In several of the pix it appears the lower frame of the operable panel and the helm windshield panel are even/aligned but the operable panel isnt as tall, its down a 1/2" or so. Is that correct? Is the hinge side the same, or down a 1/2" too?

Otherwise, in general, the windshield gap between the operable panel and fixed helm windshield looks good, nice and even reveal along the operable panels edge. Correct?

If just shorter, its probably a replacement operable panel.

Take a look at these inexpensive latches:

Looks like something in the hull has let it spread. I'd start looking at the stringers before you worry about the windshield.

Try pushing inward on the outside of the windows on both the port and starboard side.
Sometimes the rivets get lose and allow the window to spread out causing your problem. If there nice and tight you may have bigger problems.

Thats why i asked about the gap and alignment. Doesnt look like theres a problem below decks.

When there is a problem below decks, the window no longer closes or fits right.

The window frame itself is loose, and allows it to sag, i can pull it up even. The rest of the windows are all tight, and the boat is tight. The gap is even the entire way down.

It looks like its supposed to be that way. But the window latches i bought simply aren't long enough to slide over and hold the window shut.

All depends on which way it collapses

What are the measurements of the latches you have tried - or what length would they need to be from the screw to work?

Mine uses something like this where there is a long side and a short side. Unless that gap is huger than it looks the long side seems like it would work.

1.25" from the center of the screw to the edge of the latch would get it done.
