bass tracker sending unit

I have a new 2013 bass tracker with few hours fuel gauge stopped working registers 3/4 tank when it is almost empty etc unplugged wire of course goes to empty then back to 3/4 when hooked up ??

Well, if you can get to it, I would take it out and clean it up make sure the sending arm is moving up and down correctly. But to be honest with you, I have never had a sending unit in a boat that was real reliable, they all seem to read incorrectly most of the time.
