Was fishing the Indian River in Sebastian, Fl. Great pace for Sea Trout and Snook and Redfish.
Was looking out about 150yd. and saw a log drifting by.
Then I realized the tide was going the other way???
Thought Manatee??
I tossed my lure in the general direction of the log.
The log about 5-6ft stopped and went towards the spot where the lure landed....
First thought Manatee and then I saw the scutes on the tail.
CROCOIDILE !!!!
I'd heard they were in the river but didn't think I'd ever see one.
I tried to get pics but way too far away.
Made the rest of the fishing a little more tense!!

Are you sure it was a Crocodile and not an Alligator? Gators are the more plentiful types around here and there in Florida. I think there are a few Crocks in Florida as well, but Gators rule everything and the more likely type seen. :noidea:

The alligators don't like the salty water where I live.
They have seen them here before. Google: Sebastian Inlet Crocodile.
The local lakes and impoundments have alligators. The impoundment next to the local Wally World in Sebastian has one alligator about 5ft.
Crocks They estimated there are up to 1200 in Fl.

I was wade fishing in front of my place on the river.
Made the wading a bit more tense.

I understand what you are saying. You really need to be careful when wade fishing. They don't seem to care if they want to taste people it seems.
