bought this engine about 6 month ago, engine was working fine until recently that the overheat alarm started to go off. Changed impeller, thermostat, pressure valve and problem continued. Noticed that when replacing thermostat and pressure valve there were salt rocks inside the engine, flushed the engine with marine acid but problem continues. A mechanic told me that I have to continue flushing the engine with marine acid until the salt goes away, saying that chambers inside the engine might be clogged. I removed the thermostat and noticed that when running the engine there is no water in the block. any suggestion? thanks

drop lower unit , hook up a hose the the water tub to see if that will get water up into the block. if it does them the pump has a problem
