After changing my steering I am having an issue with how my 1998 Yamaha 150 Vmax and 1998 Skeeter 185zx is running. When I am at full throttle it struggles to get on plane....but eventually will....top speed is about 35mph. But if I turn the steering wheel to the right the low oil comes on for a second then goes off and the boat takes off with full power. Super strange. I noticed this does the same thing at low RPM's or even at idle or neutral. So if I turn the steering wheel to the right in neutral, the low oil light comes on and a puff normal looking smokey exhaust comes out....like it wasn't getting oil until I turned it to the right.
Anyone have any idea what this could be? Things that have already been looked into: spark plugs replaced, cleaned carbs, oil and fuel lines checked, props, also the sensor on the rear steering cable that checks the tilt.
