I have a 2003 Yamaha 200hp hpdi (Silver top) that I took to my local shop because it had some hesitation to get on plane. Once it got on plane it ran fine.
The shop cleaned all the fuel filters and the O2 sensor. When they put everything back together they found that any time they turned the key to the on position, (not the start position) that the motor would blow a fuse. I went in to the shop and they demonstrated this to me. They ordered a new fuse box that took almost 2 weeks to get, installed that and still had the same problem.
I am hoping someone might have experienced this before and have an idea what they did to cause this problem. This is prime fishing time and they?ve had my boat for a month now. They are now waiting for a Yamaha Rep to come help them.
This has been the most reliable motor I have ever owned, Never had a problem. I do regular maintenance, use Ring-Free always and I just generally baby this motor because I want it to last forever.
