2004 Yamaha 115 V4 not idling

I just purchased a used seaswirl bow rider.
boat cranks on 1st try, will idle for a minute or so then seems as though it runs out of fuel and stalls out. It runs great when if i get it moving in forward or reverse, but when I bring it back to neutral it cuts out. I can keep it running if i manually adjust the choke in and out to keep it from dying.

So far I have changed the spark plugs and checked the fuel filter which was clean

2004 isn't fuel injected is it?

clean the carbs and check/replace the fuel pumps
