I have a 2004 0x66 200. When I start the engine cold, the overheat light comes on and stays on with no alarm sound. Water is flowing through normally. Is this just a bad sensor or is this some type of code (like a check engine light) saying something is wrong?

To give an update. I was told that the temp sensors on the engine needed to be replaced. I did so but the light stays on and the boat still will not get up on a plane. After doing more research, I have found out that the engine is in "limp mode". Is there a way to get the ECU
