Their advertizing claim is that most of their parts are the same as Yamaha. I guess now you will find out if that is true or not.

It's an old Suzuki.

I've had a couple/few with weak (electronic) ignitions that I was able to continue to use for years without issue just by reducing the plug gap to .016-.018in.

It's been a few years since you started this thread. Did you find the specs for testing the coils, and did you find coils for it? I'm having the same problem.

Topic1: I recently purchased a Spirit 5hp. With some research I've learned it is a 1978. I'm having a problem getting spark. Narrowed it to the coils. I think. Wondering if anyone knew the specs on testing these coils? From where I've looked, you can't get these coils anymore. Is there a replacement?
