91 yamaha 85hp lower unit help

I have a crack on my lower unit on my yamaha 1991 85hp I need to know what swaps will work on this year or the best way to repair...pictures shown

Looks like saltwater has gotten into that bearing carrier threads causing corrosion and swelling....busted it out...hopefully find a good used unit for replacement....I doubt your unit can be repaired, and it's good it didn't fly apart way down the river somewhere...

look up the part # for yours and then see if any other models have the same part #

gear ratios make a difference also

Call or visit your marina or Yamaha dealer for their thoughts/advice/maybe any used units they might have or be aware of....might help to take your boat/motor with you so they can see exactly what you have.....

I've checked and I was told to weld it don't use it so much and look for a used lower unit or another motor...any one know where you can find used or new lower units for sale....I also live in spring hill florida

There should be several Yamaha dealers/marinas within say 100 miles of your home....go on line and call around for one of them that may have a decent used unit for sale....

50/1 but unless it's a C unit, should be oil injected.
