In 1999 I bought a new Yamaha 90HP 2 stroke outboard motor and never had a problem....replaced the water pump and the fuel pump a few times, run Ringfree and Stabil all the time, installed a fuel/water separator many years ago....thus far motor has been trouble-free....I think most of the Yamaha 2 stroke motors were generally well-proven and well-regarded. I've owned Yamahas 4HP, 40HP, 115HP and most recently my 90HP and never any issues with any of them...so far,so good!....
