My problem is similar with my 2000 90HP Yamaha but I don't think the battery is the cause. The warning buzzer goes off at high speed, the RPM's cut back and if I slow motor down and wait then I can go back to high speed and run for a short time and the same thing happens again. I have checked the motor to see if the cylinder heads are really hot and splash water on the upper lower unit below the cylinders and there is no steam coming off. The tattle tail water seems OK so I really don't think the motor is overheating. I disconnected the wire to the heat sensor on the top cylinder and the motor runs wide open without the RPM's cutting back. Can anyone explain this? Thanks
