1994 yamaha 225.prop spins in neutral with muffs on.???

This motor is new to me.Haven't taken it out on the water yet.still doing some minor hookups.while running it with the muffs on/ while in neutral the prop is spinning.Is this normal???

A little bit of slow prop rotation in neutral seems to be normal in everything I've ever owned. Should be able to stop the prop without any gear noise(be cautious). Even a super slow current where I slip will spin the prop while in neutral with engine off.

Yep, some engine likes doing that, it's normal, nothing to worry about. With use probably will stop doing so.

If it is lazily turning - Normal. I think the lube is being churned and the output shaft picks up some motion from the moving oil.. If it is actually spinning in neutral, you have a problem.
