Two weeks ago my motor (VX200TLRB) started giving me problems. After passing 5000RPM my motor would quit moving my boat and the RPM's would drop (pressing hotfoot does nothing). Once the RPM's dropped to under 1,000, I could move again. The motor never dies. As long as I kept my RPM's around 4,000, I would not have any problems.

Last week I brought my boat to a tech. He replaced the VST Filter and the O2 Sensor. I'm having the same problem (running past 5000RPM's), but the RPM's would drop around 700-1000 and I can run again. I'm not sure if this is related to the parts replaced or not or just a coincidence.

I'm bringing my boat back Tuesday (they're not available to work on it Monday). Anyone with any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not motor smart, and I am losing patience. I don't want to start replacing parts just on a hunch instead of some mechanic reasoning.

Thanks in advance.
