Drive shaft damaged?

I have a yamaha f225 2005 with only 190 hours. I was having a mechanic service my engine and replace the impeller. He couldn't get the plastic and metal rings that hold the impellar off. So I saw him hit the rings and shaft with a screwdriver and hammer. After looking at the shaft I noticed these bad nicks from the screwdriver. What an idiot! I need to know if this is going to affect anything at all so I know if I should take him to small claims to replace the shaft. Or if it's just something that can be smoothed out. Any help would be great.

The shaft is fine....that stainless collar is a tight fit on the shaft and can require cutting it off....although a pair of pliers would have removed it without the use of the hammer and screwdriver....like I said, your driveshaft will be O.K.....
