Tilt Cylinder 60 Hp 2006 Yamaha

I know zero about outboards. Playing parts chaser for son in law in Mexico. The manual engine tilt assist cylinder has sprang a bad leak. Are these things repairable or is a replacement necessary? This is a manual tilt cylinder, not an electric tilt cylinder. I don't even know the right name for it or where to go for parts. Any and all advice appreciated. A dealer 400 miles away wants 960 DOLLARS worth of pesos for a replacement.

And you do not know what the model # is, but I am sure the uit is not a Yamaha part that cam with the motor
