MY 2005 YAMAHA 115HP TILT/TRIM HAS STOPPED WORKING. IT WILL NOT RAISE OR LOWER THE MOTOR. I CAN DO IT
MANUALLY BUT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO LIFT IT UP (NEED 2 OR 3 HELPERS). HAVE FILLED THE TILT/TRIM WITH LOTS
OF FLUID PLUS RECHARGED MY BATTERIES. MAKES A NOISE LIKE IT IS TRYING TO LIFT IT BUT DOES NOT MOVE. ANY
IDEAS AS I UNDERSTAND A NEW TILT/TRIM WILL COST OVER $2,000!!!

THANKS,
REFEREESAC

Turn off the capital letters, makes it hard to read.

Maybe you need to close the manual bypass, or fill up with fluid
Is it leaking out so bad you cannot keep fluid in it?

Probably need to have a Yamaha shop look at it

My thoughts exactly, BYPASS screw cracked open. The same one that has to be open to manually raise the engine. Normally located Starboard side inside a drilled opening with embossed icon and arrow. MAYBE.

Thanks guys. I have already closed the manual tilt/trim screw but it did not help. Have a Yamaha Mechanic coming to look at it next Monday (9/8/2014).
