Hi all,

I´m a newbie when it comes to boats so please have some understanding... :)

Anyhow, last week we bought our first boat, an Askeladden 475 Fighter with a Suzuki DT55 outboard engine, both from 1996.
The remote control unit is a NA12S.
According to the owner before me the trim gauge hasn´t worked during his time (since 2009). The gauge pin just stays at the bottom.. The trim itself works correctly.

So today I had a look at it. I opened the pulpet and disconnected the cables to the trim gauge and connected them again, just to be sure.
I turned the key, trimmed the engine but nothing on the gauge.

I then when back to the trim sender and moved it with my finger.... and the gauge moved correctly. :)

I sprayed the sender to make it move easier but nothing on the gauge when using the trim button on the control unit.

I don´t know how the sender unit should be moved, mechanically or electronically.
When inspecting it it´s not even placed close to the engine so it could be touched when trimming so either some physical part which is connecting the sender with the engine is missing or some electronic problems.

Should the sender be moved physically or electronically ?

Some pictures are also attached to describe it better.

Could someone please help me out here ?

Big thanks !

Kind regards,
Anders
