I have a 1988 yamaha 70hp 70eltg 2 stroke. I was wide open on my 15' boston whaler then it died and my fish finder said low voltage.i started it back up and it started making a squeaking noise yesterday at idle. It sounds like a squeaking belt of a car so I'm thinking it might be a spun bearing or something. Does anyone have any tips on how to diagnose weather it is a bearing or something else. Thanks Blueribbon

Some of the Yamaha outboards have a driveshaft bushing that can squeak and can require lubrication....you have to drop the lower unit to inspect/lubricate this bushing....may want to check the parts diagram for your specific motor to determine if yours has this bushing....
