89-90' Suzuki dt-100, V-4

Greetings all:
I have an issue that I am hoping to get a response on. When I drop it into drive it will operate alright, but when I give it throttle, it will start to bog down and die. I had:

• Cleaned the carbs--screws at 1-1/2 turns
• I checked resistance on the throttle sensor and it is to spec
• re-gapped the pulser coils & gear counter (which were gapped too far)

I am out of places to turn. I have not checked the rectifier (not sure if this has anything to do with my symptoms) and could not establish idle timing. Any help would be appreciated.
