I could really use some help.
I have a 1987 115 hp yamaha 2 stroke that is oil injected that came with a boat that I bought two years ago, When I first looked at the boat and tested the motor it ran perfect. Then as the year went on it started to stall out when I would try to take off really fast and it wouldn't start unless I used the choke after it had been running for awhile. So last year I took it to a mechanic who cleaned all the carbs, fuel tank, and flushed all the lines. I have run nothing but premium gas in it since I had this done and once again the motor ran just perfect for first part of the year. Later in the year it started to do the same thing as before but know I could notice a strong odour of gas and the motor was smoking pretty bad. I had someone tell me that it is getting too much oil and running too rich and that is why this is happening. Could this be the case and if so, does anyone know how I can or if I can adjust how much oil the motor gets?
