1998 Yamaha Saltwater Series 115HP Water in Cylinder

Hello,

We have a 1998 Yamaha Saltwater Series 115HP motor with water getting in a cylinder. Had a couple of different people look at it and everyone performed a compression check. The lower left cylinder has poor compression results and the spark plug is rusted. They all have different ideas what it could be but does anyone know if this is a common problem with this motor and how is the water getting in? Thank you in advance for your info.

My first guess would be a head gasket but have seen pin holes corrode through from the water jacket.

We had the head gaskets replaced a 1 1/2 years ago. Do you still think that's possible?
