I recently bought a truck and this motor was in the back...he said it has to go with the truck. I was excited...free motor! Needed carbs and a few other things...but free sounds like a good price! I purchased 3 used carbs off eBay, a new impeller kit, intake silencer and 2 control cables. It wouldn't crank over, found a few red wires in the wire bundle all disconnected. Fuse is missing, wired it all up per diagram and now she cranks over perfect. Cylinder pressures are all 110-112. Great voltage everywhere and excellent spark.
My questions are...
Does the buzz alarm go off continually until the motor is started?
What size fuze goes to the power wires in the wire bundle? (Located under the ignition packs)
Is there a connecting rod between the LH side of the carbs down to the oil pump?
And lastly what size prop does anyone recommend for mounting this motor to a 16ft aluminum boat..don't want to go stainless because we hunt from the boats a lot up here in kodiak and beach often to pick up the deer, bear, fox and goats.
I have a manual on order but won't be here for a week, hence the questions!
