Johnson steering work with Yamaha motor?

Currently on my boat is a 1992 Johnson 115 outboard an I just picked up a 1989 Yamaha v6 150 an wondering if the steering cable would work on the Yamaha or do I have to install a totally different cable? I do see the shift cables are different.... Also my control shifter box do I also have to change that also?

Steering is the same except you will need to use the Yamaha link instead of the Johnson's. You will need to change the rest of the controls to Yamaha
