Hello, long story short....Engine runs fine and will go into forward and reverse. However I get a slight slip every once in a while in reverse. After changing my teleflex control cables because they were severely tight I stumbled upon an issue when trying to adjust the teleflex cables. It appears that the shift rod is in a bind somehow. When shifted into forward the rod comes up fine, however when shifted into reverse it goes down just a little bit and then appears to be bending as if it is bottoming out. I have no clue where to start looking for the problem. Should I pull the lower unit off? It seems like common sense that the problem would be at the bottom end of the shift shaft......Hoping for good news.
