2003 90 hp yamaha NO GEARS,NOT shaft

Pulled lower unit off,have no response,no fwd or rev, while manually shifting and turning driveshaft,obvious to me problem is in the gearcase,BUT,anyone tell me what it likely is.Worked fine one minute,nothing next.Thanks

Broken driveshaft down at the pinion gear.
