Im looking at a yamaha 8 and its got corrosion on the tiller near the rubber and some around the bottom of the leg (the part the prop attaches too). Its a 2005 model. I think its off a yacht tender. Should I turn the other way or is this a treatable problem, does it mean there might be more serious problems?

Only you can see it, hear it run, and know the price.

A friend bought one recently and had to have the head removed and the entire motor cleaned inside due to the amount junk plugging up the water passages. Had the mechanic not been his friend it wouldn't have been worth it.

I steer clear of salt water motors. They are usually trouble.
