Yamaha 130hp 1998 too much smoke in only one of two.

Hi everyone,i have been using two 130hp in my boat for over 5 years. Carburetor and pre-mix oil 50:1 ratio. One of them produse more smoke than the other while running.Is ok ? any relation with the spark im using? NGK 8 and NGK 9.thanks

If they both run fine otherwise, then don't worry - be happy!

I had one that had a bad oil sensor and was flooding the engine with oil. Lower tank pump was filling the upper tank due to the sensor thinking the tank was empty I guess, and as a result was over filling. Sensor fixed it.

Thank,s a lot for your help. Im using pre-mix. I was using for many years precision oil blend by Yamaha, but one of the line was not supplying proper oil and #2 cilinder,piston,rings, cranshaft failed.I did the power unit overhaul and eliminated the oil pump. Now i,m using pre-mix. Any advised is welcome.Thanks a lot for your time.:joyous:

Compare the condition of the spark plugs in both engines if one is fouled up, that cylinder/cylinders is the problem.
