My remote oil tank is slowly pumping oil to engine mounted tank. I want to check the screens/filter on tanks. I'm going to have to remove the remote tank in order to get to pump/fikter. This will be my first time doing this! Is there anything that i need to do other then basically take off filter and inspect? If the remote tank filter is clear i would like to take out filter from engine mounted tank. I see some post that say don't rip out that oil gauge assembly. Is this true? How do you take off the engine mounted tanks gauge to inspect the strainer? I once tried taking it off and couldn't so i didnt want to mess with it. The screens are # 6 and 15 correct?

get a Yamaha service manual and start reading.
If you have read the many posts on the subject, I am not sure what these questions are
The remote tank has an in line filter , it is not inside tank
the screen inside motor tank will not keep it from filling
