98 OX66 225 Primer bulb does not get hard and floods motor

98 OX66 225 Primer bulb does not get hard floods motor very hard to start. if I do not pump the primer bulb engine starts easy but still runs rough at low RPM


motor runs rough at idle and low rpm , runs great above 2400 RPMs

LP pumps replaced and 02 sensor cleaned last summer

Double check your LP pumps. I know you said they have been replaced but those symptoms are what I had when mine went bad.

Ok I'll check the LP pumps

there not even a year old , I put the date on the pump when I replaced them 8/20/2012


anyone else have the LP pumps go bad in less than a year ?

If the needle and seat is leaking in the VST tank, it will flood fuel into the intake thought the overflow lines

Replace the seat and needle in the VST

pulled VST apart removed float and needle valve , cleaned everything , (not that it was very dirty,)
put it all back together.

pumped the primer bulb , it now gets hard
now I have to go to the lake and see how it runs
