Question of tilt and trim for a 2001 90hp Yamaha long shaft, please:
Helping my neighbor with his 90hp 2001 Yamaha and the trim and tilt work ok up and down at idle or shut down.
The trim holds at wide open throttle just fine, but if you raise the motor with the tilt pass the trim rods at wide open throttle, the tilt will fade down to the trim rods.
My neighbor wants to run his boat at best trim position which for him means a little in the tilt rod range past the trim rod range, but the tilt rod will not hold that motor angle at wide open throttle.
I believe the tilt rod is probably fading or leaking or bypassing by.
But my question is does Yamaha design their tilt to fade at WOT? the motor does not fade down on the tilt rod when parked and not running???
