Yamaha Vmax 250 water pump issue

I have a Vmax SHO 250 with 25 hours purchased new last fall. This year the tell-tale stream is weak although constant, and the water pressure gauge periodically searches between 15 and 7 psi but not all the time. But it has searched continuously for as much as an hour. The engine sounds fine and shows nothing out of the ordinary. Dealer has flushed the system and replaced impeller and thermostats which hasn't changed the symptoms. Any ideas?

Try checking the water pump the grommet in the top of the water pump housing. It is easy to over look this. I had a similar issue ant this took care of it also while you have the lower unit off put a hose to the intake tube with a bucket under it turn the water on then off. Then let the water drain into the bucket and look for debris I had carpenter ants make a home in my outboard over the winter a few years ago causing my problem.
