Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know about the charging system on a Yamaha F200TXCR 4 stroke 2004. Will idling for a hour recharge a nearly dead battery?

Thanks,

Re: Yamaha 200 charging system question

You have a 45A charging system at cruising rpm. I would guess maybe 3 to 5 amps at most (probably less) at idle in an hour. Wouldn't amount to much of a charge on a dead battery.

You actually have a regulated system and the engine will produce a full charge at any rpm.

Even car alternators are regulated for voltage, but rpm controls amperage produced.

either way it is not a good idea to run a dead battery in anything,
it is hard on things. Charge it up or put a charged one in it's place
