How to replace impeller in suzuki dt3.5?

So I've got the lower unit loose and i see two pieces of broken plastic. One on top of a plate and another below it. What are these? How do i take the lower unit all the way off? Its still attached to the rod going up to the motor. and behind the prop there's a pinion gear that looks like its stopping the foot from coming off
