Yamaha 703 control box.

I'm a new boater. I was coming in off the Bay, everything was running great. All of a sudden the motor started running rough and I was getting an alarm from, what appeared to be, the control box. Does the Yamaha 703 control box have some type of alarm in it, or was the alarm coming from somewhere else?

Your right the 703 controls do have an alarm in it. It sounds when your engine is over heating or if its a 4 stroke low on oil psi. More than likly your engine is getting hot. Check the water intake on the leg that it is not plugged.

Two things will sound the alarm. High temp or low oil in the engine tank.
