Hey Guys, the question i have is today i went out and trimmed my outboard down after sitting for a few month and oil (dark in color) ran out of the water inlet ports on each side of the lower unit , cant really tell how much as it was in the gravel.

Is this a major problem? I have not yet tried to start the motor. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks Chris

Re: Suzuki DT85 oil injected outboard question??

Its most lilkely unburnt oil flowing down after being sitting in there on an angle for a while. Quite common, but not in my limited experience from the inlet ports.
You could check your gear-oil level to be sure and also check your oil injection tank (of course you say!) but i think you will find that its just old residue in the leg thats being hung up on some old carbon residue
Are you sure it was water inlet ports and not exhaust port?
