I have a houseboat that I just repowered with Yamaha 115's (2010 model)
I have run the wiring harness to the lower helm station, and installed the digital tach's (6y5's) and all works great.-- my question-- I would like to have tachs onthe upper helm station as well. I currently have anolog tachs up there from the old engines ( johnson 130's) and would like to see if I can use them for the new engines. Is this possible? If not, what are my choices? -- the only thing I need up there is the tach -- ( I already have a kill switch for the motors up there)
Thanks in advance

Re: yamaha 115f tach wiring question

Run the green wire from your throttle controls up to the analog gauge. If you are not running command link on your digital guage you should still be able to piggy back on the same signal. Tach signal frequency can vary from engine to engine so you may have change the setting on the back of the analog tach for it to read accurately.
