I'm looking at buying a 2007 Yamaha F115 the seller says has 2000 hours on it, 75% of the hours below 1000 RPM's. Are these hours anything to be concerned about?

Got a customer with twice that much on one. I'm more worried about one that has sat with low hours. Have it checked out before buying.

+1 on getting the engine checked out.

It appears you've had it on a reader if you know it's had 75% usage under 1000 rpm's--at an idle. That's somewhat abnormal.

You should have the lower unit vacuum and pressure professionally tested to make sure the seals are good, and inspect the lower unit grease for water contamination. You'll also want to have the compression tested on the motor.

If it all checks out, hopefully you'll have a jewel for a fair price.

Yes I agree that 75% of 2000 hours under 1000 RPM's is abnormal...basically trolling most of the time. I asked the seller for an engine hour log but he said that wasn't available. Should I walk away from this one?
