I'm think about doing a shock treatment on my motor.
Right now my compression read
1=120
2=115
3=115
4=115
5=115
6=115

Will a shock treatment with seafoam lower my compression or will it help improve it?
The motor run great, I have ask co worker regarding to this . They say if it aint broken don't fix it and also if during decarb and a chunk of carbon broke loose it
can damage your sore the cynder wall.

thanks

If you haven't been following Yamaha's recommendation and running Ringfree or some kind of decarboning agent like Techron, then you need to shock it. I would just buy a big bottle of Techron and pour all of it in the fuel tank.

When you did the compression test, did you follow the instructions in the Engine FAQs Forum exactly? The magnitude of the psi is irrelevant, the cylinder match is almost unbeatable; near perfect.

It ain't broke. Don't get outboard hypochondria.

A carbon treatment would not do any harm, but it probably wouldn't do any good either

Compression readings are great and "the motor runs great"...no problem!....Maybe start using the Yamaha Ringfree at the "deposit prevention" dosage?
