Gas connector leaks when I squeeze primer bulb on Suzuki DT8C

When I squeeze the primer bulb gas leaks out of the connector where the hose from the tank connects to the engine. I wondered if this is normal? The engine runs for a while then shuts down and I'm thinking the fuel pump may be sucking air in and not getting enough fuel. The connection just doesn't seem to be very good, is there supposed to be an O-ring in the connector to give a tight fit?

Thanks
Bob

Walmart may carry that connector for a few$$...The gas is leaking Out and the Air is leaking in...not good at all....it's a cheap and easy fix!

yes there are o rings in those connections, but not sure how easy they are to replace just the o ring.
Have you looked at the male part that the o ring has to seal against to make sure it is good also?
