hello,,I am very confused at the moment.
I have a yamaha v6 150 hp 1988 outboard with a bad stator.it does run,but the coils that are for charging the battery are no good.
what I have here ,new in the box,is a stator assembly for the yamaha 1988 V4 outboard...this carries a 6E5 partnumber,and the V6 carries a 6G5.
the books say they are not interchangable...but put them side to side they are identical. same size,same holes,same coils,same configuration,same wires and colors,,,,and even same ohm readings are the same!!! blue - black red at 740 ohms.
red - browns at 69 ohms.
what is DIFFERENT on them,,,could some one explain this??
