Yamaha 70 tilt/trim stuck

I just got this Yamaha 70 and the tilt/trim seemed a little sluggish. I tilted the motor up all the way and added fluid. Now it's stuck all the way up. Pump motor runs both ways, but no tilting up or down. And of course the manual release screw is stuck. How rough can one get with the release screw to free it up without busting anything? If I remove the hydraulic lines will the oil drain out and let the motor drop? Here's a couple pics, just because I took them...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Yamaha 70 tilt/trim stuck

Are you sure you are turning manual release in the proper direction?

Might try one of those impact screw drivers to break it free

Re: Yamaha 70 tilt/trim stuck

Thanks for the reply. Yes I was trying to turn the release in the proper direction, and yes I tried an old school hit with a hammer impact screw driver. No luck on the release.
I did however loosen a fitting on the bottom of the unit to drain out fluid. When I did the trim cylinders both went down and the pressure was released from the tilt cylinder also. So now it's tilted down, pump motor runs but no tilt or trim action (yes I did refill it). So I'll go ahead and use it without TnT for a while until I can rebuild the unit. Here's a pic...

I think if I had loosened the other line, It would have drained the tilt cylinder first and maybe the trim cylinders would still work. Or maybe not, I just don't know.
