Going to pull my boat out of water to look at water pump ( weak pee and alarm) anything I need to be aware of before I drop the lower unit?
Any special tools? Sealant?,Grease? I have replaced the impeller on an 85hp evinrude but the Yamaha is a first.

Oh, and while you're doing the water pump, maybe check/replace the thermostat and pressure control valve....

Thanks Robert. Unfortunately I got an early start this am so I missed your post. I checked the thermostat by heating it up and watching it open. The impeller had a broken vane. All went well and was very easy to change,it took about an hour to complete and test in lake. Good pee stream at idle now....thanks again for your advice.
