Hi, I hope I'm worring about nothing. While cruising about 25 mph on my 2004 172 pro angler smokercraft with a 1994 v4 130 hp yamaha I got a over heating alarm. I immediatly shut down, pulled the engine up to see if something was blocking the water intake. Nothing was found, pulled the engine cover, the engine was not overly hot to the touch. Restarted engine and used it the rest of the day. When we came into dock and while waiting our turn for the ramp I noticed water spitting out of the exhaust ports just below the cowel. I looked around me and saw no other outboard was doing this. This does not happen when I have the earmuffs on it. The water pump and thermostats are one season old. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or not. thanks for your help.
