pulling a few boats out from the dock on the yard for routine service and this Yamaha 200hpdi had lower unit oil going down the Skeg, not much, but enough that was noticeable.went to put the lower drain plug in after filling it up, with the new washer on the drain plug, and it kept spinning. Wouldn't tighten down.seems others had this problem as well, and looks like they suggested going to an over sized Merc plug, i believe 3/8th

any suggestions?thanks for your help

Sounds like tapping for oversize plug would make good sense. Just be sure to get tap shavings out of lower unit as much as possible. Good Luck!:)

Yeah no biggie. Just be easy when you are tapping the new threads, as you dont want to crack the housing.
