I had the same problem. From what i have read, we are not the only ones either. The steering arm on mine was too short so i built a bracket out of stainless steel plate which i bolted to the front steering attachment. That allowed me to relocate the steering arm attachment point where i wanted it and now i have equal turning in both directions. Your inquiry doesn't designate which engine you have, but mine is a 1989 yamaha 30 hp. If you want photos, i can send you some. The cost of the stainless plate was about 5.00.
