1998 Yamaha 115hp V4 2 stroke questions

I just bought a 1998 Yamaha 115hp V4 2 stroke outboard that is propeller driven. I REALLY need a jet foot lower unit to put on this motor, are there any places you can buy a jet foot for this motor? Do they even make a jet foot for this model? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I don't see why you couldn't adapt it to a jet lower, but gonna be hard to find an extra old jet bottom laying around....and you will lose about 30-40 hp ya know....so careful what boat you put that 115 on.

you could search craiglist and ebay..if you needed a jet prop motor you should have just purchased one with a jet prop. you may end up selling that motor and just buying a whole motor. I am no jet prop fan as yamatech mentioned you lose big time HP and it will cost you piles of extra fuel..I would not go that route if there were any other option.

Are there any other year models around that time that would have a jet foot that would fit this model or does it have to be a jet foot off of EXACTLY the same motor? Thanks for the replies.

I am not sure what year models are interchangeable, but I would suspect that any one from mid to late 90s or early 2000s should fit. Yamatech would probably know exactly what year changes were made.

You may find it hard to find a good used jet lower unit, and new units are very expensive. In our part of the country, I've never seen one used.

You'd almost be best served buying a whole new/used motor--and sell your present motor.

There are quite a few years that are the same drive.....at least from '94. The 115 and 130 show the same drive....but there is an alternate drive for the 130 so careful, but most will be the same.
