It would all depend on how it's been used and maintained. If it's been used in saltwater for 15+ years then maybe not so good. Freshwater only use would make it more attractive. Depending on the price of the motor, if it's really cheap then you could afford to spend some time and money to bring the maintenance up to date, like new water pump, service lower unit, clean carbs, etc. Good Luck!
No inherent problems with that motor, but saltwater can be hard on a motor and all the nuts, bolts and fasteners holding it together. Unless the price is really low, then I'd be looking for a freshwater motor. If the guy ran it in saltwater and pulled it out on a trailer and flushed/washed with fresh water regularly, then maybe it's O.K. Good Luck!
